Mentors play a critical role in NCARB’s Architectural Experience Program (AXP), as these individuals help developing architects review and reflect on their work.
Purpose of the program:
Establish a connection and expand networking efforts between architects, intern architects going through licensing process and students.
Bridge the gap between established professionals and emerging professionals.
Enhance the careers of the next generation of emerging professionals
Supplement the tools for emerging professionals to complete requirements for licensure.

AIA Long Island is launching the 2021 Emerging Professional Friendly Firm Program. All architecture firms that have an office in Long Island and are AIA member firms are eligible to apply. The AIA Long Island Emerging Professional Friendly Firm program aims to identify firm initiatives that promote the advancement of Emerging Professionals through professional development and personal growth opportunities. The accuracy of the data reported through this questionnaire benefits firms, firm leadership and Emerging Professionals.
An Emerging Professional (EP) is defined by the AIA as a student, recent graduate or architect licensed within the last 10 years. Please include part time and full-time staff in your responses in the survey.
This award is being sponsored by the AIA LI Emerging Professionals Committee (LIEPC). The LIEPC committee reviews survey responses and award ‘Emerging Professional Friendly’ status to firms who display an outstanding commitment to the development of their Emerging Professional staff.
