The LI Custom Residential Architects Network (CRAN) supports architects in custom residential work by providing a forum for idea exchange, advocating for practitioners, and offering educational opportunities.
The goal of CRAN is to foster an inclusive, supportive, and educational community for architects engaged in custom residential work, addressing unique practice issues, advocating for increased media exposure and industry recognition, and providing a platform for ongoing professional development and resource sharing.

Stuart Narofsky, FAIA
Committee Chair
Stuart Narofsky, FAIA, is the principal of Narofsky Architecture, a multidiscipline design firm. An AIA member since 1983, he was the recipient of AIA Long Island’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. His projects are highly recognized through AIA Long Island Archi awards and other prestigious national and international design awards. The firm has been regularly featured in national and international publications, movies, tv series and exhibitions. He has taught and served on juries at New York Institute of Technology, Drexel University and Pratt Institute. Stuart has lectured and run workshops at various universities in Bolivia, Argentina, Poland and Hungary. Dedicated to pro bono service, he was honored by the Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County for his work in designing a children’s memorial garden and for the production of an accompanying short film. Stuart Served on the Long Island Chapters board for many years and was president in 1999. For almost 40 years he has participated in many chapter programs. Stuart has also committed much service to AIA national Knowledge Communities, including the Advisory board of CRAN (Custom Residential Architects Network) for 14 years and as the CRAN Chair in 2018. He also has lectured and presented at AIA National Conferences for the past 25 years. In 2016 Stuart was inducted as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects.

Committed to giving back to the community, he is involved in various philanthropic initiatives, making a positive impact both within and outside the industry.
