  • Amanda C. Rivera, AIA, LEED AP

    University Architect, Tulane University



    Tulane University's Architect since January 2021, previously a Senior Associate at EskewDumezRipple, has a distinguished career leading projects nationwide, including the 8-year renovation of 20 acres for Reinventing the Crescent-Downriver Park. Recognized for leadership, she received the AIA Louisiana Professional Achievement Award in 2016 and was named 40 Under 40 by Gambit Weekly. At Tulane, Amanda directs campus planning, implementing the university’s Master Plan with a focus on aesthetics, functionality, sustainability, and community engagement.

  • Andrew Liles, AIA, LEED AP

    Principal, A M Liles Architect PC Visiting Assistant Professor, School of Architecture, Tulane University


    Andrew owns a New Orleans-based practice and is a visiting assistant professor at Tulane University's School of Architecture. Focused on the southeast, his projects range from compact commercial to custom residential. As a LEED Accredited Professional, Liles has played a pivotal role in the US Green Building Council and contributed to award-winning sustainable architecture. His design expertise extends to over a decade of teaching at Tulane, covering various levels and subjects. Currently exhibited at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Liles is part of Louisiana Contemporary 2023, featuring thirty-one contemporary artists.

  • Javier Marcano, AIA, WELL, LEED AP BD+C, CSI-EP

    Associate Architect, Eskew Dumez Ripple +


    Javier, a Venezuelan-born architect, is driven by the social and political forces shaping cities. He graduated with Honors from Pratt Institute in New York and gained experience at SHoP Architects, contributing to projects like The Barclays Center. His expertise extends to digital fabrication, CNC milling, and project management. Drawn to New Orleans for its historical richness and design opportunities, he joined EskewDumezRipple in 2017. Actively engaged in AIA, Javier received the 2020 Emerging Professional Young Architect Award, emphasizing his commitment to sustainability and resilience in architecture.

  • Michael Dean Ballard, Jr., AIA, NOMA

    Project Manager / Owner’s Representative, Firmora Project Management, LLC

    Michael, a licensed architect with a Master of Architecture degree from Tulane University, serves as a project manager and owner's representative at Firmora Project Management, LLC since 2016. Specializing in small commercial and residential historic projects, he navigates clients through due diligence, redevelopment criteria, and historic building renovation. Michael guides projects from schematic design to construction administration, collaborating with various agencies. His prior roles include work on sustainable affordable housing at CORE USA and Campo Architects, showcasing expertise in meeting sustainability guidelines.

  • Peter Spera III

    Principal / Co-founder, GOAT


    Born and raised in New Orleans, Peter has been a licensed architect practicing in the city since 2012. In 2016, Peter co-founded GOAT, bringing with him extensive experience in commercial hospitality, restaurant & retail design, and large project management. In addition to acting as GOAT’s voice of reason, Peter is the President of the New Orleans Chapter of the AIA, Chairman of the Gretna Historic District Commission, and District 2 Representative for the Louisiana Architect Selection Board. In his personal time, he serves as a Mardi Gras Float Lieutenant in the Krewe of Thoth. He’s also the pit master on his Hogs for the Cause team, Piggy Stardust.
